Michael Lelwica, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Welcome!  I am a Clinical Psychologist who has been providing psychological services in the Ames area for over 20 years for children, adolescents, and adults.  I offer individual, parent, and family therapy services, as well as psychoeducational evaluation services.  I have extensive experience in evaluating and diagnosing developmental differences and learning disabilities, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, and Specific Learning Disorders (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia).  In addition, I assess and provide treatment interventions for anxiety disorders, trauma, depression, conduct issues, parent-child interaction problems, and relationship issues.  I typically work with clients who are 6-years of age or older, but will evaluate and treat children as young as 4-years of age.  I often utilize family therapy/parent training interventions to help the individual and the family thrive.  In my practice I strive to provide a culturally sensitive and LGBTQ affirming environment for clients to grow and change.
