Dr. Pfeiffer

About Me: Hello, I am currently completing my post doctoral residency with Ames Counseling and Psychological Services.  I began working in the world of mental health and education 19 years ago. In all my work I do my best to bring a neurobiological and developmentally sensitive lens to the table. It is important to me that my office be an accepting space for people of all ethnicities, races, sexual preferences, religions, and cultural backgrounds. I thoroughly enjoy learning about people’s histories and experiences to ensure I can help them obtain the support they may need. I conduct neuropsychological evaluations on children, adolescents, and young adults who may be experiencing a wide array of issues.

I am the owner of Intricate Roots, an educational consulting company. I support educational systems around the world in embedding a neurobiological lens in the school setting and providing recommendations that are developmentally relevant for students and staff. I am also an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado, Denver, in the Graduate School of Education and Human Development.

Assessment and Evaluation Specialties: Neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults with cognitive concerns, ADHD evaluations, social and emotional assessments, specific learning disorders evaluations, psychological/personality evaluations, and Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluations.

Education: I completed my undergraduate degree in Social Work at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. I received my Master of Social Work degree and Animal Assisted Social Work Certificate from the University of Denver. I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in School Psychology at the University of Colorado, Denver.
